Sponsors introduction letter
Sponsorship Opportunities
Dear Potential Sponsor,
This letter is to introduce you to the Okanagan Athletics Baseball Society and invite you to learn about the various sponsorship opportunities the team has available for you and your company.
The society provides opportunities for baseball players throughout the Interior of BC to compete provincially at the highest levels for their age group. Our prep team accepts players in Grade 8 and 9 and they compete in the Bantam AAA league. Our Junior team accepts players in Grade 10 and 11 and they compete in the Junior Premier league. Our Senior team, accepts players in Grade 10, 11, and 12. This team has competed for the last 7 season in the BC Premier League. This U18 baseball league is Canada’s best high school age baseball program.
Our goal is to develop players from Grade 8 to Grade 12 to allow them to thrive and compete in the Premier Baseball League andprepare each of our players for the next level. For some that is Canadian college baseball while for others it might be U.S. college baseball. Both paths may include scholarships for the athlete. And for a select few, there may be the opportunity to be drafted by a major league team and play professional baseball. Currently, Brett Lawrie, Justin Morneau, Ryan Dempster and Jeff Francis are Major League players that played in the Premier Baseball League. Through all of this, there is increased recognition for our players which may lead to selection to Provincial and/or National teams. There are several Athletics who have played on Provincial Teams in Portland (The Pacific Northwest Championships) and Arizona (The Arizona Fall Classic) as well as the Junior National Team. .
Our club has the endorsement of the 3 baseball associations within the Kelowna area (Rutland, Kelowna, and West Kelowna). They have granted us the privilege of providing the opportunity for their players to compete in these Provincial leagues. By taking on this responsibility, the Okanagan Athletics Baseball Club has taken away the stress of running these teams from the local associations. They now can concentrate totally of providing excellent house league experiences for their athletes. Currently, each of the associations has provided some start-up funds but it is our mandate to be financially self-sufficient. Having said that, the Okanagan Athletics Senior and Junior teams are the only Interior based teams in their respective leagues and, as such, the costs of running this program are considerably higher than teams on the coast. Travel and accommodation expenses are significant for every player and their family on all 3 teams. So in an effort to provide youth baseball players an affordable option to continue their baseball careers, we have initiated a campaign to enlist corporate sponsors. Monies raised will go to offset player's fees, travel and accommodation expenses and general costs associated with running the program. We are non-profit organizations and we encourage you to join our team as a corporate sponsor. There are several sponsorship opportunities for you to gain visibility and recognition for your company while promoting a worthwhile community youth organization.
Please take the time to visit our sponsorship opportunities under the sponsorship tab at our website www.okanaganathletics.ca.
We thank you in advance for your support of the Okanagan Athletics and its players.
Sincerely,
Greg Stearns, President & GM Senior Team |
